The ReadAllAboutIT Forum Read all about IT is maintained by sircles.net, the Information Technology Solutions Provider. They are based in Berkshire and deal with creating solutions tailored for Small to Medium Enterprises. Read all about IT was a project they agreed to do as hosting and troubleshooting are both key elements of their business and so I thought it might be a reasonable request that they put their 'money where their mouth was' so to speak and approached the support team to see if they would be prepared to have the advice they send out to contract clients transcribed and published on the web. Thankfully there was a resounding 'Yes!' and so, together, we have begun this little project. Hopefully the site will grow and grow time allowing. I know that today has been a day of the new beta release of Windows Vista and that there has been much excitement about the technical promises that are being made, and that there is a definite positive feeling about what can be done with the newer technologies on offer. It should equally be said that, speaking to the staff here in the support room, it is the working methods of computer use that still cause the biggest time and money losses. One of the things I read about in the latest Microsoft Partner Update publication release (This is simply the publication that the Microsoft Partners receive) that the new Vista version of Windows includes new technologies to counter time losses from mislaid files. This is a problem that can surely be met with new technology but that is better met with organization and structuring of files and folders. It is definitely the feeling here at sircles.net that failing to plan is planning to fail and that prevention is better than remedy so have a look through the Information Pages and see if there is anything you can take a day out of one week to get sorted out in your office and start saving time daily.
