Probably a very dumb question but I just purchased a new dual head video card and an additional monitor. I installed the card and had nothing on either screen. I was nervous about disabling the onboard video card....will I still have a screen if I disable the onboard....I am afraid that if the new video card does not work and I have disabled the onboard video I will not be able to see anything to enable it...help me please.

The onboard should be disabled when you plug in the new card but if it is not then you can check it is working before disabling the other. If you get stuck without being able to see a display then reset the CMOS by placing the jumper in the correct place on the motherboard (see your motherboard/pc instruction book) and powering up for a short while before returning the CMOS pin to its normal place.

Hi Friend,
If you do not receive a video signal, listen carefully for the normal beep that indicates a successful post. (Power On Self Test). If there is one beep, turn the system off and plug the cable back into the motherboard display port. If you now receive a video signal, check your BIOS Settings or Jumper settings once again. If you still have difficulties, or you do not receive any signal on either port, then read your documentation on how to reset BIOS or change the jumper back to its original position.

Thanks,
James
